Steps, steps, steps...and then some more steps

We believe we now know what Seoul should be known for to the world...more steps than any city on the planet. We did some exploring today, which means taking the Seoul Metro subway from place to place. And each exit or changing lines means MORE STEPS!

We first visited the National Museum, a beautiful building that was finished just a few years ago, and took the English guided tour; we covered 3 floors in about an hour, then I wandered through the Korean History section while Victoria rested a few minutes. After a trip to the gift shop, we boarded the subway again for a trip to Itaewon, which is the shopping district near the US military base. We found our way to an Outback Steakhouse, then did a little shopping in some of the shops there.

Finally back on the subway and a stop at COEX mall, the largest underground mall in Asia. We discovered there that Seoul must have a law that no one living in the city can stay in their homes on a Saturday evening; everyone in the city was either at that mall or on the subway cars with us!

Today's plans are to watch the UK game this morning (it's just 6:15 am here now), then head to the Seoul Grand Park Zoo for a while later this morning, then just try to relax a little before the big day tomorrow. We are supposed to be at the SWS office at 11am to pick CJ up, then have the rest of the day to spend with him and pack before leaving for the airport early tomorrow morning. Since it will definitely be an eventful day tomorrow, we will try to post a picture or two before heading home early on Tuesday.

  1. It's sounds like you definitely got your exercise today. It's always amazing how you can find American restaurants overseas. I probably won't get to post a message before you leave, so have a safe trip home. We look forward to meeting CJ.
